Hi! I’m Esther Coombs a professional illustrator based in Kent.
Having recently completed an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from the Cambridge School of Art I’m keen to work on more narrative fiction projects, especially picture books for younger children but welcome work of all kinds, including in the non-fiction genre for children.
I’m an Associate Lecturer at the University of the Creative Arts - Canterbury on the Visual Communication BA.
Probably best known previously for Non-ficiton children’s books like the award winning “Kids Can Cook” series, and author-illustrated Plant, Sow, Make and Grow. For drawing urban architecture, large public murals, diagram instructions for craft and lifestyle books and children’s activity books.
Recent clients include: Hardie Grant Books, Guild of Master Craftsmen’s chidlrens imprint-Button Books, Stone Water Development, A-space, National Gallery Company, Lark Books USA, Kyle Books.
