This was such a great commission to do I had to tell you all about it, for Christmas this lovely customer asked me to draw the 6 places that mean the most to her parents on a set of mugs for her, so I did, of course! :) It really was a joy to do, a real range of buildings and places and the end result looked pretty good I think.
Here's hoping the recipients like them just as much, as I enjoyed doing them!
Merry Christmas!

Country Living Christmas Fair lived up to its billing!

As you will know, I have spent most of the past week at the Islington Business Design Centre, along with many hundreds of other exhibitors, at the Country Living Christmas Fair 2011. It was great to be part of such a big and very popular event. The stands looked fabulous and there was most definitely a very christmassy vibe in the air! I loved meeting some of you face to face and having a chance to chat to new customers who had not previously seen my work.

I will be selling my wares at Craft Central's 'Made in Clerkenwell' Winter Open Studios from Thursday 24 November - Sunday 27 November 2011 (see http://craftcentral.org.uk/madeinclerkenwellwinter2011 for more details). Held in Craft Central's two beautiful victorian buildings in Clerkenwell Green and St John's Square, this is a great event offering you the chance to see 'behind the scenes' in designers' studios and discover unique handmade items ranging from jewellery and fashion to interiors products.

I will be throwing open my studio doors this Christmas, hoping that lots of villagers and maybe even some of my longer distance customers will come to visit! If you are free on either Friday 2 (5-8pm) or Saturday 3 December (10am - 4pm) please do come along and share some mulled wine and mince pies. It's a great opportunity to find out more about how I create my upcycled pieces and maybe grab a bargain or two and cross a few more names from your christmas shopping list.

Here at the studio, we're counting down the days to the Country Living Christmas Fair 2011 where I will be exhibiting for the first time. The event runs from 9 - 13 November at the Business Design Centre, Islington N1 0QH (www.countrylivingfair.com/xmas).

I began illustrating discarded ceramics about two years ago, and I have found people want objects in their home that, in addition to being beautiful, are useful and have a story. The cake stands are a particularly pretty way of giving a new lease on life to unwanted crockery. My range has now expanded to include up-cycled china seed markers, up-cycled printed tea towels and the newest addition to my work which I'm very excited about up-cycled cushions.
