Jubilee Celebrations

So, how did you celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee? Our local villages really pulled out all the stops and put on a host of events, all of which were advertised in a special jubilee programme featuring Esther's cover illustration above (the design featured a selection of iconic buildings from villages across the parish). Micheldever's celebrations culminated in a traditional street party on Monday 4 June. Miraculously the weather stayed dry (although not very warm!) until the very end of the afternoon when the heavens literally opened for a 15 minutes' downpour - which proved to be perfect timing as it meant everyone cleared their tables in super quick time! Here are just a few pics showing some of the activities that went on that afternoon, including my daughter Ellie showing off her face and hand artwork ...
